Show Rules Application

Spring and Fall Art Show Rules

Art work submitted for any LAA art show must meet the following requirements:

1.        Be art created by  the  LAA member

2.        Be original works, created solely by the hand of the artist.

3.        Never been shown in a LAA art show.

4.        Be recent work (completed within the last 3 years)

5.        Be ready for display (properly framed and wired for hanging); Plexiglas must be substituted for glass for paintings (excluding Pastels) larger than 24 x 30; wet paintings will not be accepted.

6.        Art title, medium, artist’s name, phone number and price (or NFS) must be securely attached to the back of art work or the bottom of 3D artwork.

7.        Once the piece has been entered in a LAA art show, no substitutions for that entry will be permitted.

8.        Framed size is limited to 48” wide. If more than one piece per artist is permitted by show rules the additional piece (s) must be less than 24” wide including frame in any direction

9.        All art show entrants must be members in good standing of LAA, meaning paid their annual dues and have attended at least two meetings over the last 12 months.

10.       Art work must be delivered during the specified time.

Artwork must be suitable for family viewing. Decisions of the Show Committee will be final.

Regulations Governing LAA Art Shows

 

  • Number of shows, awards, member entries and entry fees for each show are determined by LAA Board.
  • LAA Board is responsible for all LAA art shows and delegates responsibility for running a Show, to a Show Committee, including the right to deny acceptance or removal of art work. If art work is removed, the submission fee will be returned to the artist.
  • Only one ribbon may be awarded to any one artist.
  • LAA is NOT responsible for art work received before designated receiving time or left behind after closing of a show.
  • Ribbons and cash awards will be presented at each LAA Show.
