- Ron Colgrove won Best of Show for his pen & ink drawing “Kelly’s Place” at the Mt Dora Art League Winter Show, using a crow-quill dip pen. He also won People’s Choice for his oil painting “Harper’s Mill”.
- Member Ruth Ann Maury won first place with her picture “Bye Bye Birdie” in the new Colored Pencil Guild’s first judged show. Member Kathy Enos won second place for her picture “Duet”. The show features pictures that are100% colored pencil only. The show is at the Lake Miona Rec center in the Villages, through April 20.
- Member Sandi Hanlon-Breur won a Merit Award for her painting “Looking Outside the Bowl” in the FWS non-signature online exhibit. Among the finalists were members Jackii Molsick for “Southwesterly Breeze”, and Sharon Allen for “Bright”. Pictures can be viewed at this site: http://www.floridawatercolorsociety.org/online-show.php
- Member Ron Colgrove’s exhibit continues through April 12, at the Tavares City Hall. He has 21 original oil paintings, several wood carvings, and his original oil painting for the cover of the “Lake & Sumter Counties Heartland” coffee table book.
- Ruth Ann Maury is included in the cover art work of “Music That Changed the World” by the Art League of Daytona Beach. Awards Exhibit is Sunday March 4 from 1 to 4 PM. (see page 9 in the Feb. newsletter)
- Several members, including Wilt Nelson have banners hanging in downtown Eustis until February 10. The banners will be auctioned as a fund raiser on Feb. 18, with a Wine Stroll beforehand. (see page 10 in the Feb. newsletter)
